Background and story
The story of the series takes place in a fantasy Western space. It is about the constant war in 1911, between the two states of New Austin and West Elizabeth. This is also the period of “transition” transforming these lands from lawless wilderness into planned and civilized lands under increasingly tight government interventions and management. To do that, some heroes have been taken advantage of and mercilessly thrown away when they are no longer worth it.
John Marston (voiced by Rob Wiethoff) is one facing such a situation. He is a veteran soldier, also a repentant criminal. However, he is caught by the government. They control his family and force him to do many things to reunite with his wife and children. His most important task is to catch all his old accomplices and hand them over to the law. The game is a series of seemingly endless battles mixed with the main character’s heavy emotional torment. As John Marston, you will experience a journey through the vast expanse of the Far West and Mexican territory where you fight relentlessly to bury the blood-stained past and find a new future.
An extremely attractive gameplay
There are three major game modes: Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare, and Multiplayer.
In Red Dead Redemption, you will transform into John Marston and start an adventure full of dangerous battles following the main game’s plot. Your mission is a lot: dialogue, negotiation, investigation, search for enemies, shooting, horse riding… According to the progression of the story, you will have to do everything possible for one thing, Survival. Why? Because in this Far West, we only have two paths, one is dead and the other is life, there is no easy choice for anyone.
In Undead Nightmare, the story is more hardcore. In which, the world of John Marston will suddenly be turned upside down when it turns into a zombie battle. Everyone has been invaded by disease and turned into bloodthirsty animals.
In Multiplayer, you will witness a multiplayer mode that is considered the most complete of the beautiful fighting games. It includes sub-modes: Free Roam, Co-Op, Poker Online, Liar’s Dice survival, Deathmatch, and Undead Overrun.
The ability to hunt is extremely realistically
Wild animals are also “a specialty” of Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition. The world where you travel has more than thirty different species of animals, from animals on farms, houses, to ferocious animals in the forest. Each land John visits has its soil, color, and animals, which is characteristic and vivid.

There is almost nothing to complain about weapons. In the game, you are in the early years of the 20th century, where the dizzying change of everything is happening around, especially weapons technology. The main character, the supporting characters, and the villain have a lot of different weapons: hand-packed muskets, repeater rifles, single-shot pistols or iconic revolvers, and even machine guns.
Sounds and images

John Marston was voiced by Rob Wiethoff, Sheriff Leigh Johnson was voiced by Anthony De Longis. For John’s reluctant companions, the scam drug seller Nigel West Dickens was voiced by Don Creech, the gravedigger Seth Briars was voiced by Kevin Gilkmann and the illegal arms dealer Irish was voiced by K. Harrison Sweeney.
